I started CrossFit 4 months ago at CrossFit Pretoria after snapping my collar bone February. To be honest I was very against CrossFit before I started it. But I needed to do something to keep me busy since I could no longer play rugby, can safely say that in all the time I have trained in a globogym environment I have never seen results like those I’ve achieved in the last 4 months. The box is friendly and welcoming, the staff are awesome, enthusiastic and professional. The programming is well thought out. In such a short time I’ve learnt to do skills and perform exercises I would never have believed I could possibly do. I can safely say I’m currently in the best shape of my life with the guidance and help of CrossFit Pretoria!
I started CrossFit at CFP properly, about 3 months ago to strengthen myself to train for triathlon. Now I must remind myself that I need to also train in those disciplines too. I love the atmosphere of camaraderie, supportive interest from all members and the sense of community that Chad, Dan and all the coaches foster. I love training here.

CrossFit Pretoria helped me get my pre-pregnancy fitness back
I joined CrossFit Pretoria when I was 5 months pregnant. I was worried that the workouts would be too tough and too difficult but Chad and his coaches knew exactly how to adjust my workouts to suit my pregnancy. I believe I had an easy pregnancy and birth as a result of working out with them. My abs and back were strong which made it so much easier.
As soon as the Doctor gave me the go ahead after the birth of my boy, I was back at the box. Because of Chad and his team who helped me do the right workouts to benefit me, I am stronger and fitter!
You only have to compete with yourself
For someone who was never particularly athletic or competitive, CrossFit is perfect in the sense that you only have to compete with yourself. What really differentiates it from other sports is the sense of community. There is no jealousy or envy, only sincere support for what you are trying to achieve and genuine joy when you succeed. The absolute epitome being the sense of camaraderie after finishing a particularly tough workout and then finding the energy to encourage those still busy, because they would definitely do it for you.
For me CrossFit is about testing yourself physically as well as mentally. Pushing the boundaries to become fitter and stronger and above all, enjoying yourself.
At 45 I am now stronger than ever before in my life. Through CrossFit I have learnt to do “one rep at a time” and apply it to daily challenges outside the gym as well, making me more efficient in my work and more confident in everyday life.
In my years as a gymnast pull-ups were always a struggle. But then along came Crossfit and made the seemingly impossible possible: with a little help, I’m finally able to get my chin above that bar.

I joined CFP last year June. From the get go, I’ve been welcomed with a warm and family-vibe hello.
Due to my studies and work schedule, I had to relocate, and unfortunately leave CFP. But because of my love for the sport, I did not want to stop it completely, so I’ve been “box-hopping” for quite a while now, trying to find a good fit.
Thus, with my experience of up to 7 different boxes now, I can truly say, that CFP is by far the most organised, structured and well developed programming box in Gauteng, with the coaches ALWAYS close by and ready to help and guide, motivating and pushing you to bring out the best in you.
